Administrator | Metalcraft Roofing

We are seeking an Administrator with some technical nous to join Metalcraft’s Production Team.

The position is an entry level role, and plays a key part in the production and order entry process.  Which involves working on the SWI Software System (specialist roofing software) where you will be entering detail of orders such as measurements, angles, dimensions and specifications, which then converts into drawings for manufacture.

The system is very clever and will automate calculations, however you will need to have a high level of accuracy and detail to perform in this position.

A bit about Metalcraft…

With over 60 years in business; Metalcraft Roofing are NZ’s largest privately owned roofing manufacturer.

Well established leaders, supplying premium products using locally sourced Steel and providing an exceptional level of service for both commercial and residential projects.

Part of United Industries Limited, a business made up of nine companies serving the building and construction industry within NZ. With 13 branches nationwide, Metalcraft cover all local regions supplying roofing, tiles and rainwater system solutions.

A bit about your day…

Working alongside the CSR and production team, you will be a key part of the ordering process,  where an eye for detail and excellent communication is essential.

You will be loading the jobs in the system, where volumes can fluctuate so you will also be supporting the customer service team with orders and general office administration from time to time.

Full training is provided, and you’ll be well supported by experienced team members across Auckland, East Tamaki and Hamilton who also use this system.

About you…

  • Team player mentality, keenness to join production or develop your career within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Comfortable working with numbers, systems, and an interest in drawings.
  • Ideally some spatial and shape awareness
  • Organised and methodical approach to work (manufacturing exposure)
  • Confident using computer systems and learning new software
  • Flexible and happy to support different tasks as workload changes

Accuracy is more important than advanced technical skills,  the SWI system auto-calculates, so precision and care matter most.

Training, support, culture and package:

  • Full training on the SWI system provided and ongoing.  Multiple team members are fully trained and available for support
  • 30 – 35 hours per week
  • Preferred start time: 7:00 / 7:30am – 2:00/2:30pm
  • Salary is Pro-rata $55,000 – $60,000 per annum

Why you may be interested in applying…
Having worked alongside Metalcraft for over ten years, I can say with confidence (and bias) that they are an amazing team.

  • Metalcraft carry an incredible reputation, are a well-established New Zealand business who work on some fabulous building projects nationwide.
  • Stable, supportive team environment where each colleague has a vital part in projects.
  • Strong training and systems support
  • Part-time hours offering excellent work life balance,  which also has potential to increase to 40 hour weeks in future.
  • An entry and step toward a career within the building industry and a production environment.
